Location

Situated in the Wheatley Valley, Lane Ends Farm is convenient for both the town and countryside. The property is located in a semi-rural location with far reaching views of Pellon to the front of the farm. To the rear ‘The Maltings’ and railway viaduct give a reminder of the valley’s past history, and the hillside stretches to Mount Tabor. Deer are occasionally seen in the valley, and horses, cows and sheep graze in the fields on the hillsides around.

Located a mile and a half from Halifax town centre, the bus stops outside the farm. Five-hundred yards away a network of bridleways (many of them old pack horse routes) and lanes connect to the surrounding valleys and moors, which lead to the Pennine Bridleway and Lancashire.

Ogden Water is less than ten minutes away by car, and offers a selection of circular walks around the reservoir, the surrounding moors, woods, and the wind farm. Haworth, the home of the Brontes and Worth Valley Steam Railway, is a few miles beyond.

Directions

  • From Halifax town centre take the A629.

  • As you climb the hill and round the bend you will see MacMillan’s pub on your right.
  • Lane Ends Farm is a few yards further on to your left.
  • Turn left down the cobbled drive to the parking area (please proceed with caution, as the section to the left of the drive is also a footpath).
